About GAPP: The Association of Genuine Alaska Pollock Producers (GAPP) is a nonprofit organization that advocates for one of the world’s most sustainable and nutritious seafood products, U.S.-caught Wild Alaska Pollock. Our mission is to build demand and awareness for the fish through marketing and communications efforts, driving product and menu innovation, conducting research to better understand markets and consumer perceptions, and creating awareness about the fish and the fishery. Position: Social Media Intern
Role Overview: We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to join our team for a 10-week summer internship. The primary purpose of this role is to create engaging content for our social media pages and post recipes to Pinterest. The intern will report to the Marketing Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and post engaging content on platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest.
- Utilize Sprout Social for scheduling and analytics.
- Create visually appealing graphics and videos using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Engage with our community through comments, messages, and social media interactions.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm new content ideas and strategies.
- Monitor social media trends and report on the performance of social media campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
- Creativity and ability to generate engaging content.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is preferred.
- Familiarity with editing software is a plus.
Experience:
- Must be available for the duration of the 8-week internship program: July 8th, 2024 – September 2nd, 2024.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university at the Junior, Senior, or be a recent college graduate in business, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- Candidates need not have any particular employment experience but should be extremely self-motivated and have a demonstrated track record of creating smart, engaging content and the desire to learn about Wild Alaska Pollock.
Duration and Hours:
- Full-time, 8-week internship during the summer.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Intern will be provided with a $1,500.00 stipend for the summer.
Location:
- Hybrid position with 3 days a week in the office. GAPP is headquartered in the World Trade Center-Seattle, right below the historic Pike Place Market.
