Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm, 30 min unpaid lunch

Overtime: Required as requested by management

Probationary Period: 30 Days

Summary

This position requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and dynamic problem solving. As the Shop Assistant you will be expected to adhere to S3 Maritime's commitment to quality and customer service. You be be tasked with: shipping and receiving, shop maintenance/ cleanliness, stocking/inventory operations, and parts pick up/ running. You and must be capable of following procedures and policies accurately and in a timely manner and comfortable working on/around the water. This position requires the ability to lift 50-70lbs regularly and the performance of your duties will be in a “shop” environment. You must obtain a forklift operators certification (In house) with 10 days of hire. This position is subject to a 30-day probationary period. This position is very dynamic and requires flexibility in the completion of daily tasks depending on the current production demands.

This is an entry level position with company supplied on-the-job-training (OJT). We are a career oriented company and focus on promoting in-house to each skilled position.

Job Duties/ Functions

• Coordinate with S3 Departments, Service Team, and Location Managers/ Office Administrators
• Receive material delivered from vendors and customers
• Accurately tag and enter material into inventory system
• Prepare parts for shipping
• Shop Maintenance and Cleaning
• Shop Equipment Maintenance and Cleaning
• Parts Running
• Assist departments as requested
• Vessel protect and Vessel cleaning
• Load and Unload vendor/ customer trucks
• Shop Supply Inventory Management
• Standard Item Inventory Management
• Assist Purchasing/Logistics as required

Employee Required Items

• Able to drive company vehicle (Clean MVR, Over 21 years of age)
• Steel Toe/ Safety Toe Boots
• Appropriate Shop Attire
• Individual specific PPE such as prescription safety glasses, braces, etc.
• On the Job Training (OJT) will be integrated into the probationary period.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
