The Joshi Lab at Moores Cancer Center, University of California, San Diego, is actively seeking a dedicated postdoctoral researcher to investigate the intricate molecular processes governing immunosuppression mediated by myeloid cells during tumor advancement. Employing a multidisciplinary approach, we utilize genetic mouse models, clinical specimens, spatial transcriptomics, as well as genetic and genomic methodologies alongside systems biology techniques to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the dampening of macrophage-mediated immune activation within solid tumors. Our ultimate goal is to engineer targeted immunotherapeutic strategies aimed at reprogramming pro-tumor macrophages into potent anti-tumor effectors. Applicants with a background in tumor biology, macrophage biology, NK cell biology, and immunology/immunotherapy are strongly encouraged to apply. The vibrant scientific milieu at the University of California San Diego fosters extensive opportunities for collaborative research endeavors.
Eligibility Requirements:
Qualified candidates should have a strong background in immunology, or cancer biology, or biochemistry. The candidate should have experience working with murine cancer models and flow cytometry.
How to apply:
Applicants should send a cover letter, CV, and the contact information for three references to Dr. Shweta Joshi, shjoshi@health.ucsd.edu
