Apex is looking for an entry level Environmental Scientist to join our team based out of Rockville, Maryland. This field-based individual will take the lead inspecting stormwater facilities within the DMV area. Initial long term client assignment will be located in Baltimore County. As an Environmental Scientist we will count on your to:

• Independently lead field inspections.
• Collect soil, and /or water samples.
• Understand MS4 and 20SW permit regulations.
• Familiarize yourself with MDE Stormwater Design Manual.
• Provide updates to client and project managers.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
• Input data into template reports.
• Inspection report writing and reviews.
• Actively develop your own career growth.

• BS in Environmental Science or related field. Stormwater coursework is a benefit.
• Previous intern or professional experience with field sampling and data collection preferred.
• Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
• Experience with data management and report preparation.
• Ability to organize and interpret data.
• Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Local candidates preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
