Raytheon is seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Principal Linux System Administrator Lead to join our Digital Technology team in a classified environment. As a System Administrator Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities. You and your team will work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions to system problems. Many programs employ Agile methodology in managing work. This is a onsite role in Richardson, TX.
What You Will Do
Serve as Product Owner/Team lead for high-paced help desk type support team
Administer Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), root cause analysis, security hardening, and collaborating with other teams
Hardware and software troubleshooting
Experience Scripting in Bash and Python
Use and develop with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
Install, administer and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
Deployment and administration of systems in Amazon WebServices (AWS)/Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)
Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires bachelor's degree and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Must have Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Must have Linux experience
• Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA , CND.
• Experience in Agile Methodology

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience administering Windows based systems
• Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP
• Strong analytic research and communication skills - must be detail oriented
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
• Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
