Salary: $41,600/year
Scope of Position: At a One-Stop Center, we aim to provide comprehensive services and support to our community members. From job assistance to social services, our center is a hub for individuals seeking assistance and guidance. We prioritize creating a safe and welcoming environment for all who visit our center.
As a Security Guard at our One-Stop Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our staff, visitors, and premises. You will be responsible for maintaining a presence, monitoring activities, and responding to any security-related incidents in a prompt and professional manner.
Schedule will be 8-5 (with a 30 minute lunch)
Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Conduct routine patrols of the premises
- Monitor alarm systems and other building meters
- Monitor customer activity at the front doors/reception area and assist customers as the backup to the receptionist. Unlock doors for staff as requested.
- Control access to the facility by verifying the identity of visitors and ensuring only authorized individuals enter
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or disturbances, and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Enforce center policies and regulations to maintain order and safety.
- Provide assistance and directions to visitors as needed
- Report any security breaches, safety hazards, or incidents to appropriate personnel
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, including incident reports and daily logs
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on security procedures and protocols
- Cover front desk for receptionists lunch break; answer and transfer incoming calls and assist customers and visitors.
- Assist staff in exiting customers from the building and areas when building or services are closing
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills
