Description
The Sauk Prairie School District is seeking a student-centered, technology-savvy, energetic educator with a passion for teaching to join our Careers and Technical Education Department as our Technology and Engineering Teacher in the Sauk Prairie School District. This position is shared between the Middle (0.6) and High School (0.4). The successful candidate would be instrumental in developing a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Gateway program at the Middle School and teach a variety of high school tech ed classes including Engineering Fundamentals, Digital Video Communications, and Architectural Drafting.
In addition to exemplary credentials in science, technology, and/or engineering, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated history that would include the following experiences and dispositions:
Use of data to inform programming goals and evaluate student progress
Comfort and expertise in growing students within a project-based learning environment
Knowledge and implementation of trauma-informed instructional practices
Content-area literacy instruction
A passion for working with Middle and High School students
District Description: The district includes Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, two “next door” villages known as Sauk Prairie. They are located on the beautiful Wisconsin River. Thirteen towns and the village of Merrimac are also in the district. The area features rolling hills, meadows, bluffs, forests, lakes and streams. The district offers small-town, rural living with easy access to the Madison urban area (25 miles) and to the Wisconsin Dells recreation area (28 miles). The district serves 2,800 students and comprises six learning communities with a high school of 850 students, a middle school of 600 students, and four elementary schools of 1,350 students.

Additional consideration will be taken for candidates with Project Lead the Way (PLTW) experience. The Sauk Prairie School District currently has three open positions in secondary STEM education posted in multiple ways. Our goal is to find the best candidates and modify the positions to best suit them. We encourage you to apply for the positions which best match your qualifications.
Start Date: August 27, 2024. Two days of new teacher in-service on 8/19 & 8/20 School begins on September 3.
