The Sauk Prairie School District is seeking an ELL (English Language Learner) Educational Assistant who speaks fluent Spanish for 35.00 hours per week at Bridges Elementary School (7:45-3:15 M-F) when school is in session through the end of the 2023-24 school year and return for school for 2024-25.
The Sauk Prairie School District is seeking an Educational Assistant for ELL support at Bridges Elementary to provide quality learning opportunities while maintaining a classroom climate that enables each student to master curriculum appropriate to their age, grade level, and individual capacity, as well as to develop socially and emotionally. Educational assistants will help in meeting the diversified needs of students. Fluent in the Spanish language is preferred.
Essential Functions:
To assist staff with students
Tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Translation
Individual student tutoring
Assisting teacher in delivering lessons
Parent communications
Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, recess periods, lunch periods, and bus loading
Physical assistance with students, including lifting as needed

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Must be fluent in Spanish and English, verbal and written skills
3. General clerical skills and basic computer skills
4. Obtain emergency medical training and other job related certifications as required
5. Ability to properly handle confidential matters, emergency situations and work in a positive manner with students, staff and the community
6. Very good interpersonal communication skills
7. Self-motivated individual who is able to complete tasks on time
8. Prefer previous work experience with young children
9. Able to lift 35 - 50 lbs.
