Our Location

Energy Trust provides a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Partner would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Partner will partner and consult with the Energy Trust People Services team to ensure that our human resources programs, trainings, strategies, and policies support our commitment to an inclusive and equitable workplace. Managing trainings, serving on our DEI committee, and aligning our internal strategies to the organization’s mission and goals, consulting on recruitment strategies, and developing appropriate metrics are some of the critical responsibilities for this role. The DEIB Partner enables Energy Trust to build the culture and work environment that attracts and retains our most important and valuable resource, our staff.

This position interacts with all employees across the organization in a way that aligns with our values, fosters a sense of belonging in our staff and builds a positive employee-employer relationship throughout every point of the employee lifecycle. This position is within the People Services team which includes human resources and facilities personnel. This position reports to the People Strategy Lead.

What You’ll Do:
  • Serve as an internal resource, expert, and consultant on workplace DEI strategies
  • Work closely with members of the People Services team, as well as other leaders across the organization, to consult on equitable policy development
  • Partner with the recruiting team to integrate DEI principles into recruiting and onboarding processes
  • Partner with employees in all stages of employment to coach and support an inclusive work environment in alignment in our values and organizational goals
  • Ensure that our DEI strategies are aligned to our organization’s mission, vision, and goals
  • Stay current on diversity programs, research, and best practices by maintaining a network of others in the field and practicing continuous learning
  • DEI training and program management
  • Conduct needs assessments, develop and track metrics to understand and mitigate cultural competency gaps within the organization
  • Develop and ensure delivery of effective trainings, workshops, seminars, or other learning opportunities tailored to meet these needs, using both internal and external resources
  • Develop and implement initiatives to create a shared understanding of the connection between an inclusive culture and employee success
  • Use change management methodology to support effective adoption of new ideas, processes, or programs
  • Organizational coordination
  • Serve as the People Services representative on the organization’s DEI committee
  • Work closely with the Director of DEI Services and her team, focused on our service offerings and customers, to ensure an aligned DEI strategy, approach, and messaging
  • Identify and gather appropriate DEI metrics about our staff for both internal and external use
  • Provide program management to certain affinity groups, such as our anti-racist and BIPOC affinity groups, ensuring they are useful to employees, well-managed, and connected with organization’s leadership and goals
  • Create and implement communication plans aimed at promoting DEI initiatives within the organization, ensuring that achievements are effectively highlighted and celebrated across the organization
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned
  • Perform all functions of the job in a safe manner
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, social sciences, or other related fields, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in DEI-related roles and responsibilities
  • Experience facilitating diversity, equity, and inclusion workshops and discussions; ability to create content is a plus
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams and employees at different levels of the organization to drive change
  • Strong knowledge of DEI principles and best practices. Familiarity with a range of DEI metrics and evaluation approaches
  • Independent project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring of programs with minimal supervision. Able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Understanding of change management principles
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to manage time efficiently through multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, positive communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with all staff of different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a diverse, collaborative & innovative environment.
