NCJW Pittsburgh Section is Hiring a Community Engagement Coordinator Near Pittsburgh, PA

Job Details

The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the development, coordination, and facilitation of NCJW PGH’s direct service, events, education, and other programming. Works closely with the Community Engagement Manager and the Advocacy Manager to support all outward facing programs related to NCJW PGH’s pillars of impact. 

This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week.

$22 per hour. Paid time off. Paid holidays. Employee discount at Thriftique. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

Program Coordination

  • Implement direct service opportunities, events, education, and other programming relating to advocacy agendas
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors, attendees, partners, and other stakeholders regarding programming 
  • Use critical and strategic thinking to refine programs to increase engagement and efficiencies 
  • Identify, recruit, and train volunteers to support direct service and advocacy programming
  • Support efforts to educate, engage, and build NCJW PGH’s network, including both wholesale (e.g. social media, broadcast email and text, etc) and retail communication and recruitment (e.g. peer-to-peer text banking, phonebanking, tabling, etc)

Partnerships and Community Building 

  • Assist in maintaining relationships with key local, regional, and state individuals and organizations 
  • Attend and assist in facilitating MomsWork and Community Engagement events and educational sessions 

Communications and Evaluation 

  • Track, record, and compile key data points, information, and metrics in organization’s databases
  • Support management of external communication channels including social media, emails, and SMS announcements
  • Assist in developing quarterly reports using qualitative and quantitative data based on department objectives

Other 

  • Support NCJW PGH events and activities 
  • Attend relevant department and organization wide meetings 
  • Attend relevant trainings and educational opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience in project management, community organizing, volunteer management, or other relevant field

  • Ability to maintain hope and a positive outlook when outcomes take months or years to achieve
  • Proficient with GSuite and other online project management, communication, and database applications 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be able to lift/carry as much as 30 pounds 
  • Must be able to travel throughout Greater Pittsburgh region
  • Must be able to periodically work evenings and/or weekends
