Job Description

The Support Services Director will follow Rule 50, Dept of Human Services Rule 115, Rule 116, Rule 119, Rule 120, and other relevant regulatory guidelines. Will develop and implement personal plans and coordinate all direct care services provided by the facility to residents.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Mission Vision, Values

  1. To support the philosophy through the agency’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan .
  2. Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations.

Staff Supervision

  1. In conjunction with the HR department, interview, hire, supervise, assign, evaluate the performance of, and when necessary, discharge assigned personnel directly and in cooperation with appropriate department heads.

Program/Department Development, and Coordination

  1. To conduct oneself in a manner that reflects the highest standards of professional courtesy and ethical practices to people served, staff, guardians, families, and all outside contacts.
  2. Coordinate and monitor functions of each area of facilities to ensure an efficient operation of the facility.
  1. Monitor the maintenance and upkeep of building, grounds, and vehicle (if used).
  2. Meets all deadlines set by the agency and outside resources.
  3. Work with Benefits Coordinator.
  4. Complete monthly summaries and ensure all documentation is completed to meet clinical and financial requirements.
  5. Maintain files and data entry according to the standards set by the agency.
  6. Provide support to and work with all team and agency members.
  7. Develop personal plans for all people on caseload, including coordinating and facilitating ISP annual, along with other meetings as appropriate.
  8. Train all aspects of clinical responsibilities, including incident reports, ISP, monthly summaries, drill sign off and other clinical tasks.
  9. Train staff in Positive Behavior Approaches related to the person.
  10. Develop behavior plan for individuals who require behavioral support.
  11. Participate in the Behavioral Management and Human Rights Committees as needed.
  12. Maintain positive parent and guardian relations for individuals on the team.
  13. Promote community-based learning for individuals.
  14. Understand rules governing program/licensure for community day services.
  15. Support database management systems.
  16. Complete QIDP training per DHS regulations.

Fiscal Management

  1. Monitor inventories and purchasing systems. Review purchasing inventories and reconcile with current invoices.
  2. Complete and follow accounting and payroll procedures in a timely manner.

Marginal Responsibilities

  1. Perform other duties as assigned.
  2. As a mandated reporter ensures all allegations, abuse, and neglect are reported as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Human Services or education and two years’ supervisory experience required.
  2. Supervisory experience is essential.
  3. One year experience with persons with developmental disabilities.
  4. The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence.
  5. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Physical Requirements

  1. Frequent walking and sitting.
  2. Regular reaching, grasping, and standing.
  3. Other physical activities related to an office environment.
  4. Operates general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer.
  5. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  1. Work may occur in the following settings: Home, Office, Classroom, Site, Group Homes, or Community.
  2. Be a team player with a positive attitude towards the people EP!C supports, peers, EP!C staff and outside contacts.
