Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Secretary to join a two-lawyer trial team at a six lawyer established law firm with a low-turnover environment. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and be fully fluent with all rules and procedures governing personal injury litigation.
Duties:
- Prepare and process legal documents and papers
- Organize and maintain legal files
- Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
- Transcribe dictations and correspondences
- Assist in drafting legal documents
- Manage communication between clients, attorneys, and court personnel
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7-10 years prior experience as a Legal Secretary or similar role
- Knowledge of legal terminology, regulations, and court system
- Proficiency in legal case management software (e.g., Abicus)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and oversee management of all files
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills
- Ability to transcribe legal documents accurately
- Familiarity with legal drafting
-Bi-lingual Spanish a plus but not required
-Personal attendance at office is a must
