Job Details
Serves as the construction representative, responsible for monitoring the contractor’s quality control and inspection program.
Must be able to read and understand construction plans, blueprints, and maps.
Must be able to follow and carry out specific instructions on an independent basis.
Must have basic math skills to compute quantities and costs when requested.
Writes daily detailed inspection reports.
Attends meetings (on-site and remote) as needed related to construction projects and associated activities.
Coordinate with Contractor, client and project managers with the company to assist in the tracking of project schedule, status, and issues.
Schedule and maintain regular visits to construction sites based on the needs of the projects.
Collaborate with engineers to gather and evaluate all change orders and maintain logs of all shop drawings and construction submittals from contractors.
Review and approve construction submittals for compliance with contract documents.
Reviews and recommends approval of contractor progress schedules and reports.
Be familiar with the Standard Specifications for FAA, ODOT, and others, as applicable for construction of airfields, roads, sewer, and water line construction in Oklahoma and their application.
Have an understanding of civil-related construction.
Must know how to scale and measure distances.
Obtain measurements and report progress information from construction sites and place on an Inspector’s Daily Report (IDR).
Directly responsible for overseeing construction of assigned projects
Observe materials and other construction items before installation.
Points out potential problems to the contractor and project engineer and keeps the project engineer and supervisor informed of the project’s progress.
General knowledge of computed based programs such as Office, Excel, and Word.
Must be able to interpret and implement company-mandated safety policies.
Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual.
