This recruitment is for a full-time Construction Project Coordinator 3 position in the SW Region Capitol Programs office located at the Headquarters building in Tumwater, Washington. Working hours are generally Monday- Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm (flex time as agreed by the supervisor) with the option to telework within a commutable distance. This position may require you to travel as needed to accomplish assignments.

This Construction Project Coordinator 3 reports to the SW Region Capital Manager and directly supports State Parks' mission by providing construction management services for capital funded construction projects. As a construction project coordinator, your primary responsibilities include managing consultants through the design and construction phases of capital improvement projects in the SW Region.

This critical role requires an experienced Construction Project Coordinator with good communication skills and a working knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of architectural & engineering design, project management, and construction for project ranging from $250,000 to $5,000,000 . In this role, you will coordinate, direct, and review the development of contract documents, reports and studies by Architecture and Engineering (A&E) firms for park construction projects. Provide construction management services and/or manage A&E construction management services for park construction projects. Develop cost estimates and cost analysis required for capital budget development and project costs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

* All facets of capital project consultant management.

* Oversight of planning, design and permitting for various capital park construction projects including:

* Solicit, develop and negotiate AE agreements, personal service contracts, emergency contracts, and interagency agreements.

* Administer AE agreements, personal service contracts, emergency contracts, and interagency agreements.

* Serve as the project representative with consultants, other contracted professionals and internal staff.

* Work with external regulators and interested entities in determining the best methods for resolving development and permitting issues related to capital projects.

* Provide construction management services for capital construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents including:

* Bidding support and award evaluation services.

* Administer AE construction management services.

* Perform construction management services.

* Perform Contract dispute resolution, change order negotiation and preparation.

* Coordinate with park staff and others during construction.

* Develop written reports addressing progress and compliance issues.

* Develop capital budget submittals, including scopes of work, project cost estimates, and assist in the development of operational impacts for proposed capital projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Please Note: This position is designated as In-training and may be filled at the Construction Project Coordinator 2 or 3 level depending on qualifications. If filled at the 2 level the incumbent will advance to the 3 level after satisfactory completion of the Construction Project Coordinator 2 level training requirements.

Construction Project Coordinator 2: Salary range $5,341 - $ 7,184

* A Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or a closely related field AND

* Three (3) years of experience in engineering, architecture or landscape architect including one (1) year of relevant construction management experience.

* Valid driver's license.

* Additional qualifying experience may be substituted year for year for two (2) years of education.

Construction Project Coordinator 3: Salary range $6,510 - $ 8,758

* A Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or a closely related field. AND

* Four (4) years of experience in engineering, architecture or landscape architect including one (1) year of relevant construction management experience.

* Valid driver's license.

* Additional qualifying experience may be substituted year for year for two (2) years of education.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience managing architectural site and/or utility construction projects.

* Experience with a construction company.

* Experience developing and preparing design and construction documents in the office of a licensed or registered architect or engineer.

* A professional license/certification in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Construction Management.
