The Human Resource Division (HRD) provides human resource services to supervisors, managers, and employees.

Duties

The Investigator 2 position is responsible for completing complex and detailed background investigations of all agency applicants in a timely manner. The Investigator 2 conducts household and neighbor interviews, all investigative follow- up, sends and receives numerous files to and from the Investigator 3, corroborates and shares information with other investigators as necessary. Maintaining high quality background investigations is critical to assist in hiring managers making important hiring decisions.

Our new teammate will be able to:

  • Function as a background Investigator.
  • Confer with background investigators and assist them in developing investigation strategies for each applicant to ensure those strategies are consistent with WSP Hiring Standards and comply with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Complete case summaries and detailed logs and reports. Forward all reports and log to the Investigator 3 for review.
  • Case review and reports.
  • Gathers, reviews, evaluates records from other agencies as needed to include Law Enforcement agencies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalence.
  • Prior Law Enforcement with interviewing/investigative experience.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and maintain superior work ethic without direct supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidential material in a manner prescribed by department policy and law.

NOTE: This is not a full-time telework position. Candidates must be able and willing to work in the office and commute to here. A hybrid work schedule may be available after training and/or probationary period has been successfully completed.
