Position Type: Full-time, M-F 9a-5p
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year
Overview: Join our client's dedicated team at a nonprofit as an Accountant. They are a nonprofit organization committed to enriching our community through the arts. This role is critical to ensuring our financial health and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Biweekly Payroll Management:
- Process biweekly payroll
- Handle payroll taxes and manage seasonal payroll
- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Manage AP/AR activities
- Utilize check scanner for efficient deposit handling.
- Bank Reconciliations and Deposits:
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Month-End Close Activities:
- Execute month-end close processes, including adjusting journal entries and reconciling deferred income accounts.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to the Board’s Resource Committee.
- Office Management:
- Assist in tracking PTO and sick time for staff.
- Order office supplies as needed.
- Provide phone support when the receptionist is unavailable.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience at the accountant level (5 years preferred).
- Experience in fund accounting/nonprofit sector.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- Introverted personality
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification.
- HR/payroll experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise.
