Primarily responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager with the day to day support of team members. The Team Leader is also responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and evaluating unit (department) activities for the provision of quality patient care within the framework of the mission, vision and values of Baptist Health. This person demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organizational skills and interpersonal skills. The Team Leader reports to the Nurse Manager and serves as a coach and mentor to the staff. In accordance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures, this person demonstrates the consistent ability to act as a role model by providing direction in the application of the nursing process, quality/performance improvement standards and organizational/departmental goals and objectives. This person would also assist the Nurse Manager with interview/hiring process, disciplinary processes, and performance evaluations. Description
  • Valid Alabama RN license required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • CPR/BLS required ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred, per Specialty area;
  • Minimum 2 year staff nurse experience required.
  • Charge Nurse experience preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment. Ability to effectively manage time and schedules. Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
