Duties/Responsibilities:

• Verify benefits on patients with Medicare, Medicaid, HMO's, supplemental insurance
• Checks to ensure that hospital records for patients include all information required for Medicaid reimbursement.
• Verifies correct Medicaid & Medicare coding to ensure prompt payment.
• Inputs correct billing information and transmits electronically to the Medicaid/Medicare carriers.
• Consults with claim clerks in the Medicaid office about any disputed claims and follows up on all bills not processed within usual claim period.
• Reviews remittance advice forms to determine any adjustments made to bills as submitted and consults with the Medicaid office and submits adjustments.
• Prepares monthly reports of Medicaid billing for the Controllers office.
• Help with bookkeeping and admission process for Medicaid/Medicare admits.
• Process patient statements monthly and create report of past due amounts.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must have verbal communication skills and hearing ability to discuss billing with medical staff, patients, and Medicaid staff. Must be familiar with checking eligibility and benefits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
