Updates procedures manual, checks quality control of each procedure and of each shift. Oversees the performance of other employees, checks linearities, statistics, send data to be evaluated and to be compared with other laboratories. Performs and/or review the CAP surveys of the section. Maintains required standards of accreditation. Additional InformationQualifications/Requirements EducationSuccessful completion of a Bachelor in Science in an accredited college or university with a chemical, physical or biological science as a major subject and at least 12 months of training in a clinical laboratory of a hospital accredited by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), or a B.S. in Medical Technology, or an A.A. in Medical Laboratory Science with a full semester of Hospital Training.Required licensures/certificationsState of Florida Supervisor license in the specialty/subspecialty of supervision.Skills and AbilitiesAbility to perform and to teach students in the threshold and practical aspect of all procedures of the department. Knowledge and understanding of the work flow in the laboratory. Manual dexterity. Good oral and written communication skills ExperienceAt least 2 years experience as a medical technologist in the specialty for which is applying as Section Head.
