Job Description:
** Sign on bonus up to $25,000 available $$
Full time 36 weekly hours, night shift
About the Unit:
The twenty-four-bed Neuroscience unit offers specialized nursing assessment and care to patients with both neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses. Typical patients include those with a diagnosis of stroke, post-op craniotomy, post-op discectomy and other back surgeries, as well as post-cerebral embolization. Unit nursing care is complemented by the expertise of two Neuroscience Coordinators. New Graduate Nurses are welcome.
Job Duties:
The Neuro Spine Nurse assesses and identifies patient needs and implements appropriate interventions for the neuro patient. The Nurse establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Neuroscience nurses must have strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail in order to stay atop changing patient conditions. The neuro nurse acts as a family and patient resource to guide them through all stages of the patient's healthcare journey.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience:
Active Kentucky License
BCLS Required
ACLS Required
