We are seeking a motivated individual who is willing to learn by assisting our Carmen. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels.
Job Requirements:
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes
- Perform a variety of repairs including but not limited to wreck repairs and welding (all positions)
- Learn, comprehend, apply, and communicate all rail car requirements
- Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test
- The ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials
- The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics
- The ability to work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground
