Elevance Health is Hiring an Associate General Counsel Sr Near Latham, NY
The Associate General Counsel Sr. will be responsible for leveraging in-depth knowledge of a legal specialty or area of law to provide advice and recommendations to executives and management on highly complex matters which have a broad organizational impact and high level of risk.
This position will serve as an Associate General Counsel Sr. to CarelonRx, a pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) owned by Elevance Health. This position will provide legal support on a variety of legal matters to the PBM.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Provide legal support in the PBM client contracting process and manage associated legal risks.
- Develop responses and support for RFP activity and mitigate identified legal and business risks.
- Provide ongoing legal counsel on a wide range of legal issues impacting the PBM.
- Provide legal support in the resolution of disputes and inquiries from customers, subcontractors, and governmental/regulatory agencies.
- Routinely work on complex problems in which analysis of situations and/or facts require an in-depth evaluation of a range of factors.
- Monitor PBM regulatory landscape and provide guidance on the interpretation of PBM laws and regulations to the business.
- Manage multiple, high-profile projects.
- Serve as a resource for other attorneys and contract manager as well as business clients instructing and advising on technical and tactical issues.
- Other legal duties and responsibilities as identified by senior management.
- Carries out research of legal principles and precedents and consults with outside counsel on legal strategies on particular issues. Uses professional legal theories and best practices to contribute to development of company's concepts and principles and to achieve enterprise objectives in an original and highly effective way.
- Provides general and detailed instructions for more junior members of the department and concise, timely briefings to senior level business and legal management.
- Confers with other senior leaders including ELT members.
- Develops methods, approaches and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Provides ad hoc work direction and supervision to other legal staff regarding support on active cases, though such leadership is subordinate to the main technical focus of this role.
- Assesses and mitigates risk on even the most difficult and challenging issues.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, And Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of PBM experience preferred.
Locations: California; Colorado; Hawaii; Nevada; New York; Washington State; Jersey City, NJ.
