We are a large independent retail appliance dealer based in Hayward, California, seeking an immediate Full-Time Payroll Specialist to manage all payroll-related tasks. The ideal candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be extremely detail-oriented, organized, and meticulous. This position will report directly to the CFO.

Job Responsibilities:

Enters new hire data and maintains payroll information.

Assists new hire onboarding.

Collecting timesheet data and payroll information.

Maintaining employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Calculating wages, benefits, tax deductions, etc.

Assists in commission audits once a month and resolves commission discrepancies.

Handling direct deposit requests and data.

Resolve payroll discrepancies and errors by investigating, collecting, and analyzing information.

Answering employees’ questions about payroll.

Full cycle payroll processing.

Preparing and distributing paychecks

Processing wage garnishments

Reconcile payroll GL accounts

Preparing periodic payroll reports for review to management.

Reconcile Quarterly tax filings.

Year-End Processing (W-2, W2c processing).

Perform other payroll functions as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

High school diploma required; bachelor's degree is a plus.

At least two years of payroll experience and previous payroll software experience a plus.

Dedicated attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience evaluating, analyzing, and resolving unique and complex problems and recommending solutions.

Maintains positive attitude and professional demeanor.

High level proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Hands -on experience with spreadsheets and payroll reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
