SUMMARY Performs secretarial and office duties to support the smooth operation and running of the Central Dauphin School District Special Education Department. DUTIES Request paperwork from district staffs as needed and other districts. Distribute and log incoming paperwork to supervisors, and process corrections. Create all active files for new students and file paperwork once finalized. Maintain files for all students active and inactive. Process all record requests from other districts. Prepare files for due process proceedings. Receive records for CAIU students, coordinate meetings, track registration status and contact parents as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge and Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills and attention to detail a must. Sufficient human relations skills to communicate standard information; Possess excellent interpersonal skills; an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office in word processing (word), database and spreadsheet programs (Excel) and database applications preferred. Abilities: Ability to work independently, perform all the duties of the position efficiently and effectively. Requires the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work in order to meet schedules and timelines. Requires the ability to analyze situations and accurately adopt an effective course of action. Requires the ability to communicate with the public using courtesy, and in a manner that reflects positively on the department and District. Education and Experience: High School diploma required. Previous records management experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with spreadsheets and database management preferred.
