Qualifications
Job Summary :
Responsible for daily auditing, monitoring and daily follow-up to ensure coding compliance. Assigns appropriate codes to patient diagnoses and procedures.
Provides support to the coding staff. Monitors and documents coding trends.
Required Qualifications :
Education : High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of educational preparation for nationally recognized coding or health information management credentials.
Licensure : Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H), Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Inpatient Coding (CIC).
Experience : One (1) year of experience as a medical record coder in a healthcare setting.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities : Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, disease processes and surgical procedures.
Working knowledge of billing and revenue coding while referencing regulations and billing practices.
