SUMMARY: As an Admission Counselor at Bob Jones University, you will play a key role in the recruitment and enrollment process, working to attract, assess, and guide prospective students. This position requires a dynamic and personable individual with a deep understanding of BJU’s programs and culture, and one who can connect with diverse student populations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Student Recruitment:
- Engage with prospective students through various channels, including digital meetings, school visits, college fairs, and information sessions.
- Represent the BJU positively, providing detailed information about programs, admission requirements, and campus life.
- Application Processing:
- Assist and engage both students and parents in the completion and submission of required materials with timely cadence.
- Counseling and Advising:
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with prospective students, offering guidance on program selection, admission requirements, and career paths.
- Assist students in preparing application materials.
- Outreach and Events:
- Participate in recruitment events, open houses, and campus tours to showcase the University's offerings.
- Travel up to 3 weeks per semester for recruiting events.
- Academic Program Focus:
- Develop a deep understanding of the academic programs in your specific area of responsibility.
- Collaborate with deans and faculty to enhance outreach efforts.
- Marketing Mindset:
- Champion the BJU brand and its potential to impact the lives of prospective students.
- Advocate persuasively for Christian higher education and BJU.
- Enthusiastically engage with the colleagues, customers, and constituency of BJU.
- Provide customer service that is second to none.
Note: This position is approximately 75% at a desk, 15% connecting in campus activities, 10% travel
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Passionate about the mission of BJU.
- Effective communicator able to speak and write with clarity, accuracy and persuasiveness. Comfortable communicating by phone, email, and text.
- A love for people that enjoys building and nurturing relationships with prospects, parents, etc.
- Professional in appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to multi-task, manage projects, and to prioritize and organize responsibilities.
