IT016 Systems Engineer
The Computational and Information Sciences and Technology Office (CISTO) at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) provides high-end information technology systems and services for science, including assessment and evaluation of new information technologies, hardware, and software and manages the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS).
We are searching for a Senior or Principal Systems Engineer to work on the Cloud Platform Engineering and Security area - duties include the following tasks:
Operationalize the Science Managed Cloud Environment (SMCE) in Azure, including security controls and operational tools
Based on the approaches designed in AWS, port SMCE services to Azure, including the Open Science Studio, HPC GitOps, etc.
Provide an analysis of alternatives, design, and reference implementation for fine-grained, role-based authorization and access to multi cloud-based resources
Support for the analysis, design, and reference implementation of a FISMA-Medium Authorization to Operate (ATO) and implementation of the SMCE in Azure and AWS
Analyze the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and provide a potential operational concept of the GCP in the SMCE
Provide on-boarding and migration support for projects in the cloud on an as needed basis
Required Qualifications:
At least 10 years' experience in managing IT systems in a federal high-performance computing environment
Expertise in enterprise-level IT system engineering and system administration
Cloud computing experience using Infrastructure as Code and GitOps approach to managing resources, either on-premises or in commercial clouds
Ability to work independently and with a group
Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills
US Citizenship required.

Experience in NASA's High-End Computing (HEC) environment
