POSITION PURPOSE: Briefly summarize why your job exists.

Effectively execute capital projects by creating/ensuring quality scopes of work, adhering to the project schedule, and keeping management updated on the progress, and managing within the project budget.

• Manage, engineer, implement, and closeout capital projects
• Prepare budgetary estimates (studies) and timelines
• Estimate capital jobs and write “submission-quality” Authorization Requests (AR’s)
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise
• Ensure project compliance with EHS regulations and engineering standards
• Coordinate with contractors on capital projects to ensure safe and proper project implementation
• Prepare purchasing documents and expedite purchases as needed
• Assist in managing project crew scheduling
• Additional duties may vary

Education:

BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred. Other technical or Construction Management degrees may be considered with proven success in plant project execution.

Prior Work Experience:

5-10 years experience managing projects in a process plant environment in a technical role.

• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of plant and contractor personnel
• Must have excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
• Must become proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office packages
• Must strive to reduce costs in all phases of a project
• Must have at least a thorough understanding of fabrication/construction activities
• Must be self-motivated and be able to make things happen with limited supervision
• Must be willing to learn production operations and how project execution affects the plants
