Position will report to the Project Management Superintendent.
What You Will Do
  • Provide overall Project Management following Nutrien’s stage gated Project Management Process from project scope development through to commissioning and startup, working with either in-house or external employees or contractors as applicable to achieve the desired results
  • Apply knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to develop and manage scope to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations
  • Work with a multi-discipline project team to refine scope, estimate and gain funding approval of assigned projects
  • Ensure successful completion of projects according to clearly defined and agreed-upon objectives
  • Makes independent decisions on work methods and procedures within project scope
  • Project Controls focus preparing budgets, schedules, and resource allocation plans for multi-discipline resources, incorporating best practices in cost control, risk analysis, and schedule stewardship
  • Manage and controlling projects to ensure objectives are met in an economical and timely manner, and applicable standards, procedures, and quality control requirements are either developed or met as required
  • Ensure management of change processes are adhered to and proper documentation is recorded to align with Process Safety Management requirements
  • Liaison between operations, maintenance, technical groups, and outside contractors/suppliers. As such, the Project Manager must have excellent communication and analytical skills applying an understanding and knowledge of the overall operation of the production units
  • Mentor Engineer In Training employees (EIT), junior and intermediate project engineers, as requested
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • Five plus (5 ) years of experience in project management at a chemical facility or a heavy industrial site
  • A PMP designation with experience in a stage gated PM is preferred
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Projects Scheduler
  • Must possess valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record that meets company standard
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card
  • Ability to quickly develop working knowledge of project software
  • Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams of engineering, maintenance, and operations personnel
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to resolve business case, scoping, planning and project execution issues
