Manages the agency's Project LINK and the coordination of agency, other agency and community provider services providing intensive and non-intensive outpatient treatment, case management, parenting and self-care education, and on-site child care to pregnant and postpartum women and women with young children affected by substance use and mental health issues. Work is performed under general supervision and is guided by the directives and policies of the state Project LINK program model and agency policies and procedures, professional practices and including ethical standards related to client interactions.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThorough knowledge of human development and specifically infant and child development; thorough knowledge of the physiological, psychological and social aspects of substance abuse; thorough knowledge of the principles, theories and practices applicable to the diagnosis and treatment of substance abuse; thorough knowledge of community resources and treatment providers for the subject population; considerable knowledge of client family counseling techniques and practices; considerable knowledge of community planning and collaboration and the politics and operation of community agencies; considerable knowledge of Individual Management Guidelines for VA; some knowledge of grant administration; ability to establish and maintain rapport with the individual population; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff of other private and public agencies and organizations; ability to plan the work of, train, supervise and evaluate subordinates; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to prepare and make presentations to large audiences, ability to operate a vehicle; ability to function calmly in stressful situations; ability to prepare and maintain detailed records and prepare related reports; ability to conduct effective interviews, observe, assess and record individual behaviors and functioning and develop treatment and service plans.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in the Behavioral Sciences and considerable professional experience in direct substance use case management. Some supervisory experience preferred.
Valid VA driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
VA license as LCSW, LPC, or LCP, or license-eligible
