Job Description :
SQA - Packaging Lead - Remote
As a Supplier Quality Assurance Sr. Analyst at Mars you will address (packaging) non-conformances of in-bound materials at the assigned Mars sites.
The primary role of the Supplier Quality Assurance Lead is to drive implementation and compliance with the PQM standard.
This role serves as a subject matter expert in packaging and provides support and expertise to our RC sites as well as our supply base.
They work cross-functionally with key business stakeholders and provide quality support to the packaging industry suppliers.
Engaging with multiple functions such as Commercial, Formulation, Q&FS, and Manufacturing, they ensure all suppliers are capable of meeting Mars Standards and providing high-quality materials to the business.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Science, Chemistry, Food Science, Engineering or related technical field is required.
5 years of experience in Packaging Quality and / or developing in the Food Industry. The physical capability of working in a manufacturing environment is essential.
Up to 40% travel
Preferred Qualifications
Lead Auditor Certification
HACCP certification
5 years of experience in the Food or Pet food manufacturing industry or regulatory compliance.
Experience in supplier quality
What will be your key responsibilities?
Deep expertise in packaging materials such as flexible packaging, retort packaging, and corrugate.
Manage the SQA audit process with suppliers to identify strengths and gaps that need to be addressed to deliver in-specification material to all RC sites.
Manage cross segment relationships to share best practices and streamline shared audits
Support new product launches and line extensions by conducting supplier qualifications in a timely manner.
Accountable for maintaining the approved suppliers list for packaging materials.
Assure that supplier reviews are conducted according to PQM standard.
