This position is responsible for the day-to-day loading and unloading of freight throughout the distribution center using propane-powered forklifts and digital freight scanners.
Essential Functions
1. Loading and unloading freight in a safe and efficient manner using propane-powered forklifts and digital freight scanners.
2. Checking loads and ensuring they are secure and properly tagged.
3. Picking orders and preparing customer shipments.
4. Wrapping and tagging orders where/when required.
5. Ensuring good quality packaging of products for all customer shipments.
6. Storing unloaded product in appropriate bays, following inventory control instructions.
7. Maintaining distribution center aisles and docks clean and safe.
8. Working as part of a cross-functional team, helping other team members as needed to ensure we meet our shipping demands.
9. Reporting any issues to warehouse lead or supervisor if needed.
10. Other tasks as assigned.
Competencies and Abilities
1. Must be able to follow all Company safety policies and procedures on forklift operation to ensure safe work environment for self and other team members.
2. Must be able to operate sit-down clamp forklift.
3. May be required to use RF scanner guns.
4. Must be able to comprehend English in written and verbal format.
5. Must possess basic reading and math skills. Some basic computer knowledge may be required.
6. Must be able to follow detailed instructions, processes, and procedures.
7. Must be able to identify product packaging defects and communicate to leadership.
8. Must be a self-starter and able to work under minimal supervision.
9. Forklift certification per OSHA standards is beneficial.

• Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
• Frequently lift to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
• Having a good sense of balance
• Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
