The Shop Foreman is essentially responsible to ensure that the back shop of the shop runs smoothly, efficiently, safely, and profitably. The Shop Foreman is the “manager” of the back shop and works directly for and with the Store Manager to ensure that all technicians are learning, growing and producing to the best of their abilities.
Primary Responsibilities
 Mentor General Service employees and Technicians to develop new and improved skills
 Manage use of all service bays to maximize efficiency and control work flow
 Ensure timely completion & thoroughness of Digital Vehicle Inspections and work performed
 Ensure the quality and completion of every job prior to the vehicle being returned to the customer to minimize come-backs
 Ensure job assignments are appropriate, reasonable and accurate based on constant evaluation of developing skills and tools of other technicians
 Maintain a safe, clean and pleasant environment in the back shop
 Work directly with the Store Manager to ensure maximum profitability of the entire shop
 Meet or exceed personal production goals as well as guarantee overall production of all technician employees
 Conducting monthly safety meetings & inspections
 Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained
 Ensure proper staffing and scheduling of back-shop employees by working with Store Manager
 Responsible for training and development of all technicians including personal development
 Ensure every car is “fixed right the first time” and all customers receive 5-star service
Minimum Qualifications/Skills for the Shop Manager
 High School Diploma or GED 
 Valid Driver’s License 
 Minimum of 5 years of back-shop experience 
 Excellent organizational skills 
 Above-average management skills 
 Ability to mentor other lower level technicians Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements 
 High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
