Responsibilities Serve as the Staff Director in the Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and Compliance Division with responsibility in the development, management, and administration of agency- wide policy for the DLA Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program. Management of the Federal Discrimination Program and the adjudication of complaints for DLA and other Department of Defense Activities. Oversee subordinate Equal Employment Opportunity Specialists in preparation of final agency decisions; accomplish the final review of EEO complaint decisions. Determines adequacy of decisions and regulatory issuances governing complaints. Determines whether applicable statutes, laws, regulations, procedures, and policies have been properly interpreted and applied. Examine actions to assure correction of records deficiencies, including referral of cases back to the activity or investigative agency, with the instructions for correction of deficiencies, or requests for information where corrections may be made. Assess comprehensive and analytical summaries of all relevant material for consideration; examines whether equitable action was taken, and whether the action was warranted. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for a Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-14 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Serving as an analyst in an EEO position, analyzing data of EEO cases or complaints. Demonstrated experience applying EEO laws, regulations procedures and policies. Reviewing and advising on class action complaints. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
