Role Description:

A Director of Digital Project Management at AZDS is a driven, agile and influential leader who can manage laterally across multiple internal teams to meet milestones and progress multiple internal operations projects simultaneously.

This role will act as the main point of contact for clients and will ensure project success by creating and managing timelines and budgets, overseeing estimations and scope, collaborating effectively with cross-functional delivery teams, setting and maintaining stakeholder expectations, developing and executing launch plans, identifying and mitigating risks, and overall ensuring excellence in execution for multiple digital design and development projects.

The Director of Digital Project Management will be responsible for leading several multi-year client projects and workstreams simultaneously throughout all phases, as well as assist with internal program effectiveness initiatives for our US and European-based teams.

Our ideal candidate has prior experience in Project and/or Program Management roles, leading highly visible, high-impact digital projects to successful completion.

From a leadership perspective, our ideal candidate is extremely organized, digitally tech-savvy, an excellent communicator, possesses a strong skillset in ownership and self-prioritization, comfortable moving forward through change and ambiguity, and can lead through influence to motivate multiple team members to execute exceptional projects.

Working in one of the luxury travel industry’s premier agencies, your role will be multi-faceted, ever evolving, and requires high levels of leadership in communication, emotional intelligence, a strong business-driving yet servant leader mindset, with extensive digital expertise.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead multiple digital design and development projects throughout various phases and simultaneous workflows, including new project scoping, progress reporting, project plan creation, administrative updates, scope management, and client communication
  • Manage multiple internal and external teams to deliver projects on time and on budget, including Design, Development, Q/A, Client Services, Analytics/BI, and Product departments, as well as external stakeholders and vendors involved with client projects
  • Lead regular communication with clients as a helpful, clear, honest, and accurate point person for their project
  • Manage to project timelines and deadlines, constantly and proactively setting expectations with stakeholders
  • Understand and manage to project budgets, with a strong focus on margin management
  • Play an active role in evolving and creating program management processes and best practices

Essential Leadership Qualities:

· Tech-Savvy: Understands and thrives in digital environments, embraces new technical concepts quickly and can effectively work with technical team members

· Self-Organized: Impeccable organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

· Communication: Excellent communication skills to convey key messages with context, conciseness, and a spirit of white-glove service

· Ownership: taking responsibility of a process or initiative knowing the “buck stops” with this person, even though multiple teams are involved in its execution

· Lateral Leadership: managing multiple stakeholders without direct reporting responsibility to ensure they meet and exceed budget and timeline goals

· Curiosity: Resourceful and tech-savvy, with the ability to seek out and learn new technical, UI/UX, analytics, and digital marketing & platform concepts and innovations quickly

· Initiative: exhibits ability to ask for alignment vs. wait for direction

· Team Player: exhibits a positive, optimistic, “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude, with the ability to not only jump in and assist wherever needed

· Effective Storytelling: can synthesize multiple data points and/or moving pieces down to key insights and drivers to enable actionable decisions, via excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

· Agility: thrives in a fast-paced environment, with multiple moving pieces, and can identify and lead tactics to make progress through ambiguity

Required Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience in a formal Project Management or Program Management role
  • Must have experience working on technology/digital projects, including demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with development teams, clearly understand and articulate requirements, and quickly comprehend technical concepts
  • Digital agency or external client-facing project management experience a plus
  • Strong familiarity with website or booking engine design and development desired
  • Experience or personal passion for the luxury, travel and/or hospitality industries a plus
