Maintenance Tech III Boiler-7455-12354SOVAH Health - Danville

Description

Position Summary

Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will maintain a safe and cost-effective method of steam production to support organizational needs and objectives.

  • Make major and minor repairs on boiler equipment as required.
  • Make all necessary safety adjustments on boiler equipment as required.
  • Make necessary repairs to stem piping system and related devices (pumps, valves, regulators, etc.)
  • Performs daily boiler water tests and calculates proper chemical dosage and makes appropriate adjustments.
  • Maintains natural gas pressure regulating devices associates with boilers and related equipment.
  • Performs manual blow-down of operating boilers as required.
  • Works closely with all regulatory authorities as required.
  • Performs all types of welding, soldering, brazing, cutting, and prefabricating metal structures and piping systems.
  • Orders all parts and equipment necessary.
  • Orders all boiler chemicals and reagents as required.
  • Diagnoses problems associated with fire tube boilers and make corrections as required.
  • Responsible for supervision of Power Plant Technician.
  • Maintains all records required on boilers.
  • Keeps accurate daily log.
  • Completes all documents required by cutting and welding permits.
  • Responsible for minor repairs to equipment, structures, and environmental systems.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles including cleaning, checking fluids, battery, lights, lubrication and general overall condition.
  • Check and make T-stat adjustments.
  • Check and repair / replace and mount televisions.
  • Changes filters on all heating and cooling units.
  • Responsible for snow / ice removal and other grounds work as instructed by Supervisor.
  • Clean and maintain equipment rooms and shop areas.
  • Replace all burned out incandescent and florescent lamps.
  • Replace broken parking gate arms.
  • Make minor repairs to nurse call system and tube system.
  • Replace broken belts on air handler units as needed.
  • Reset and check out tripped circuit breakers in electrical panels.
  • Acknowledge and reset fire alarm system.
  • Repair closing and latching of fire doors.
  • Keep all sink drains, toilets and roof drains open.
  • Repair leaking valves and faucets.
  • Retrieve and repair patient electrical and mechanical beds and related equipment.
  • Repair wheelchairs.
  • Replace or repair electrical plugs, switches, receptacles, and florescent light ballast.
  • Assist in construction projects as duties require, painting, patching or demolition.
  • Assist with moving of office furnishings.
  • Replace ceiling tiles as needed
  • Keeps daily log updated at all times.
  • Documents all information required by preventative maintenance program.
  • Records all medical gas readings as required.
  • Records all converter temperatures as required.
  • Checks and records all hot water tank temperatures.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education

Must complete / obtain High School Diploma required.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure appropriateness and continuity of care for the patients of Sovah Health Danville

Fulfills other assigned responsibilities, duties and tasks of them not specifically listed within this job description and as directed by employee’s supervisor.

All phases of boiler room operation.

Licenses :

Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
