Premier Transportation Services is Hiring an Assistant Fleet Manager Near Dallas, TX
Job Description: The Assistant Fleet Manager will work closely with the Fleet Manager to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate will have extensive vehicle maintenance experience. A Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement is a significant advantage. The role requires emergency availability, after hours and on weekends, with the standard workdays being from Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Licensing and Registration: Assist in ensuring all company vehicles are properly licensed, registered, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
Vendor Management: Help manage relationships with outside vendors for vehicle maintenance, repairs, and other fleet services.
Parts Ordering and Inventory: Order parts and manage parts inventory to ensure timely and efficient maintenance and repairs.
Staff Management: Supervise in-house car washers to maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and upkeep.
GPS Tracking: Monitor the Geotab GPS tracking service to track vehicle locations and performance accurately.
Fuel Monitoring: Track and manage fuel expenditures using the Coast fuel management system to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Inspections: Assist in conducting daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of all vehicles to ensure safety, compliance, and optimal performance.
Microsoft Office Suite: Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for various administrative tasks and reporting – Excell a must!
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the Fleet Manager and overall fleet operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and fleet management.
Possession of at least a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement is a major plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in using GPS tracking systems and fuel management software.
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
