First Century Bank is looking for a full-time Operations Specialist, to join its bank operations team in our Commerce, Georgia location.

The individual will work with Operations and Bookkeeping to ensure smooth, compliant, and accurate processing of payments throughout the bank.

First Century Bank specializes in providing financial services through technology channels for our clients. The Operations Specialist will be trained in research of exception items to determine whether items should be processed or returned by the Bank.

Operations Specialist will be responsible for performing the following essential duties :

Bookkeeper duties :

Individual will review and research each item on daily NSF reports, unpost / exception items, and charge back items. Individual will review images of items to determine the appropriate course of action.

These actions could include contacting the customer, returning item, and post to the correct account. Manual review and action taken will be required.

Tickets to action each item must be created and be balanced at the end of each day, for each action item to be processed through the proof department.

• Reports large dollar return items to the appropriate endorsing bank.
• Key return items on Fed Line.
• Process charge back of return items to customer accounts.
• Communicate any notification of change on ACH items to appropriate customers through secure transmission or fax.
• Review the stop pay report, determine if items on the report need to be returned or processed.

Wire Specialist duties :

• Process wires using the Jack Henry Silverlake terminal by completing the following :
• Check OFAC on all incoming and outgoing wires.
• Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers daily.
• Process general ledger / DDA entries for wire transfers daily.
• Add incoming wire details for customers.
• Notify respective departments of incoming wires.
• Maintain an electronic file of all wire activity daily (date, amount, originator, beneficiary).
• Adhere to Bank's wire transfer policy.
• Process wires using the Federal Reserve wire terminal by completing the following :
• Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers daily.
• Process general ledger / DDA entries for wire transfers daily.
• Add incoming wire details for customers.
• Notify respective departments of incoming and return wires.
• Maintain an electronic file of all wire activity daily (date, amount, originator, beneficiary).
• Balance incoming and outgoing wires to the Federal Reserve.
• Stuffs and mails bank statements, NSF notices, and charge back items.
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned or which inherently or logically belong to the position.
• Exemplify FCB's values while carrying out its mission and organizational goals and priorities.
• Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and / or training;

or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual will demonstrate an attention to detail and troubleshooting skills in the performance of their job.

Banking experience and Jack Henry experience is a plus.
