How you make a difference:
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, and supervises nursing personnel and services to patients at the facility.
- Oversees nursing systems, ensures consistent care delivery, and maintains patient rights.
- Shares responsibility for selecting and appraising nursing staff and conducts rounds on all units throughout the day.
- Assists in ensuring resident safety, coordinates orientation training, and prepares reports.
- Advocates for PI, risk management, patient safety, and infection control principles, and serves on clinical care committees and task forces.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or other supervisory level position in correctional, psychiatric and/or medical surgical nursing.
- Must be able to pass and maintain clearance for a Public Trust Position, if working with specific patients.
- Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment, or possess a multi-state compact license recognized by the State of employment to practice professional nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
