Alair Homes is Hiring a Finance Director Near Clemson, SC

ROLE

The Finance Director will provide administrative support to the Partner, ensuring the organization’s financial operations and administrative systems are streamlined to enhance its capacity to achieve its goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookkeeping and Financial Management:

  • Subcontractor/Vendor Invoices
  • Enter invoices in Project Management software
  • Keep ledger to track payments, uncleared checks, bank balance
  • Collect and Manage W-9s
  • Approve or deny handwritten check requests after checking budget, selections, COIs, and W9
  • Review monthly statements and collect missing invoices
  • Project Accounting Oversight
  • Sign subcontractor agreements as company representative
  • Request client invoices through SharePoint
  • Process client payments, save to project files
  • Attend monthly client budget meeting with Project Manager
  • Hold bi-weekly administrative project reviews
  • Work closely with corporate accounting to ensure accuracy of client billing/payments
  • Bi-Monthly Payables
  • Review Payables, budgets, cut checks twice monthly, communicate with Head Office on checks written
  • Solve unreconciled transactions, unverified payments

Payroll and Reporting:

  • HR/Payroll
  • Complete new hire paperwork, submit to corporate
  • Submit requests for new hires, staff updates, and terminations
  • Set up new employee phones, iPads, laptops, get keys, credit cards, business cards, shirts
  • Approve time entries daily, monitor missed time, track vacation and unpaid time off, unlock PMs
  • Assist Project Managers with Payroll access
  • 401K
  • Manage bi-monthly 401K contributions after each payroll submission
  • Pay admin bills
  • Manage end-of-year reporting (typically happens in the early spring)

Insurance Management:

  • General Liability
  • Ensure monthly bills is being paid
  • Gather and report information for Year End Audit
  • Monitor and collect COIs for all subcontractors working on projects to ensure they are up to date
  • Worker’s Comp
  • Report monthly payroll and pay the bill by the due date
  • Gather and report information for Year End Audit
  • Monitor and collect COIs for all subcontractors working on projects to ensure they are up to date
  • Builder’s Risk
  • Submit for and pay for project specific builder’s risk policies
  • Track builder’s risk policies for all projects to ensure they do not expire

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining the annual budget in collaboration with the Partner and Head Office accounting team.

General Responsibilities:

  • Licenses and Certifications
  • Maintain business licenses
  • Ensure builder’s licenses are up to date
  • Manage Vehicles
  • Add/remove drivers from our auto insurance
  • Add/remove vehicles from insurance
  • Track and keep records of maintenance for all vehicles
  • Manage and pay insurance bills
  • Manage and pay property taxes/registration
  • General Items
  • Order signs and marketing materials when needed
  • Order office supplies as needed
  • Work with CPA on tax filing, annually and quarterly as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Curiosity and inquisitiveness – willingness to learn new skills and not accept the status quo
  • Self-Starter - Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong phone presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Internet usage.
  • Preferred experience with QuickBooks;
  • Two-year degree from an accredited college; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, will be considered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
