Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael (YOY) is a yeshiva high school for boys in the Boston area. We are known for high quality religious and secular studies and have a vibrant electives program. Our small, close-knit community is an ideal place for you to share your passion with young men.

Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael is hiring a part-time 11th grade English teacher for fall of 2024. This position is ideal for someone with a current teaching position looking for additional work, a graduate student in English or education who is interested in teaching at the high school level, or someone looking to possibly change careers.
Responsibilities include:
Create and implement lesson plans You will be responsible for teaching one section of 11th grade English. For the right candidate there may be opportunities to teach elective courses or advise clubs based on your interests.
Monitor and communicate student progress Provide feedback to students and their families on academic, social, and behavioral progress. Maintain appropriate records. Create two-way communication channels with families so they are updated on their childs progress.
Other responsibilities As assigned by the Head of School.
Who you are:

• Warm, nurturing, and passionate about working with teenage boys.
• Creative, and enjoy developing coursework that will challenge and enrich teenagers minds.
• Passionate about English literature and writing, and have multiple ways to engage students in the curriculum.
• The ideal candidate will have experience teaching HS English.

  Location: Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael is in Chestnut Hill (Newton), Massachusetts
  Hours:The hours for this position have some flexibility based on your schedule, between Monday-Thursday 1:30-5:30 p.m. There is room to teach between 1-4 courses during these hours.
  Salary: $7500-$10,000 per class, based on experience.
  Benefits: Employees may be eligible for health insurance, life insurance, and professional development opportunities. Time off for national and Jewish holidays. Secular classes do not meet on Fridays.
