Basic Function:

Under the direction of the painter, carries out assigned duties and tasks ensuring that vehicles and equipment are properly prepared for application of paint. Ensures that all work is performed with emphasis on safety and quality.

Ensures that all activities are carried out in a safe, effective, professional, and efficient manner so as to protect employees and the assets of the Company.

Essential Functions:

• Adheres to Cranemasters safety policies and procedures. Actively participates in daily job/work briefing.
• Assists Painters in preparation of vehicles and equipment for painting. Includes:

cleaning of vehicles, grease removal, sanding, grinding, removal of accessories (mirrors, wipers, etc.)

• Ensures that work is carried out while following all safety protocols (wearing PPE, utilization of ventilation, etc.)
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all tools and equipment including spraying equipment, nozzles, etc. to ensure quality operation and maintenance of trade tools.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the paint booth and all associated work areas.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• May operate forklift or other material management handling equipment to transport parts to designated areas.
• Proactively participates in all training opportunities to further develop skills and abilities. Assists other painters/team members in accomplishment of work ensuring deadlines are met while meeting Cranemasters standards for quality.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Travel: As may be required for work related travel to and from other Cranemasters locations, training, seminars, and meetings.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to operate spray gun and related painting equipment including high pressure air hose.
• Demonstrated ability to meet expectations for attention to detail and achievement of work assignments; commitment to completion of tasks and follow-up responsibilities.
• Team player committed to working in a quality environment.
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Good driving record; must reflect a total accumulation of no more than six negative points within the past three years, or a major violation within the past three years. Possession of CDL-A or CDL-B preferred.
• Display strong adherence to safety policies and procedures.
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Must pass qualification tests as required (includes E-Rail Safe and other training/safety programs).
• Must meet 24/7 availability in order to respond to emergency calls for service including weekends and holidays.

Physical Demands:

• Constantly on feet.
• May work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Working extended hours.
• Must be able to distinguish colors, color acuity required.
• Ability to work with chemicals and solvent.
• Must be able to wear and work in protective clothing/PPE including masks.
• Constant bending, twisting, stooping, standing, lifting/carrying loads/tools, and walking.
• Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; loads in excess of 50 pounds and which can be reduced, should be made lighter.
• Employee must obtain assistance when lifting items weighing more than 75 pounds, or items which present ergonomic challenges in lifting/movement/placement.

? Cranemasters is a 24/7 emergency service provider to the railroad industry and as such employees are subject to work outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends and/or holidays.
