A prestigious Buffalo law firm is looking for a full-time Assistant Controller to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overseeing A/P, A/R, and accounting staff while working closely with the Controller and other staff to ensure effective and efficient accounting/finance operations
• Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing monthly financial results and conducting general ledger journal entries, related reconciliations, variance analysis, etc.
• Assisting in monthly and year-end financial closing processes
• Assisting the Controller in preparing annual budget
• Managing accounting, compliance testing, and reporting of the firm`s benefit and pension plans, including 5500 filings

Job Requirements

• 3-5 years of business accounting experience
• Bachelor`s degree in Accounting
• CPA strongly preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with law firm accounting is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
