The Training Specialist 1 Mental Hygiene (MH) will assume the role of trainer for a variety of programs, including Preventing and Managing Crisis Situations (PMCS), AHA CPR courses, New Employee Orientation and Partnering for Safety. The successful candidate will assist with the Statewide Learning Management System (SLMS) administrative functions, including but not limited to, creating classes, enrolling participants, managing class rosters, and running reports to monitor facility compliance with training programs. The individual will also assist SLMS users and troubleshoot systemic problems which may arise. As needed, the Training Specialist 1 MH will provide classroom assistance with scheduling rooms, assist in ensuring audio-visual equipment is in working order and instruct staff in its use. Additionally, this title will perform in the role of a PMCS coach position. This includes attending code events as available, participating in post-acute event analysis and formal debriefing and any performance improvement plan related to restraint and seclusion.

The Training Specialist 1 MH must have a bachelor's degree in a human services field plus two years of professional experience in developing and delivering classroom training involving concepts and techniques of care for vulnerable person in a mental hygiene setting. A Master's degree in a human services field may substitute one year of required experienced.
