Branson Pulmonology and Sleep is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Branson, MO

Branson Pulmonology and Sleep is seeking a full-time Office Specialist MA/LPN. The Office Specialist ensures that patient needs and visit expectations are met. Medical Office Specialists are responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast-paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain vital signs, perform injections, and other testing as assigned
  • Review and edit medications and allergies
  • Answer clinical phone calls and respond to messages
  • Medication prior authorizations
  • Assists in routine clerical functions such as filing of medical information in patient's records, locating and preparing department charts, obtaining medical records from other providers and entering charges for billing purposes
  • Be able and willing to multi-task admitting assignments to create and maintain a smooth in-take of each patient visit
  • May assist with front and back office duties as assigned simultaneously

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be able to type at least 40 wpm
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone and in writing
  • Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
  • Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Demostrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • One or more years' experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA/LPN

Physical Requirements: Center-based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. Also requires: the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
