JOB SUMMARY : The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics staff consists of more than 250 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs.

These programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in various sports events annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA).

We are currently seeking an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach who will work directly with several of Cal’s Olympic programs.

This is a one-year contract position.

Description of Position : The Assistant Athletic Performance Coach will help design, plan, conduct, assist, and supervise complex strength and conditioning programs for 4 of Cal’s Olympic Sports

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Overseeing strength and conditioning activitie.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS : Required :

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Nutrition, Health, or related field / equivalent training and experience.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Division I strength and conditioning coach.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basic spreadsheet and word processing programs.
• Red Cross CPR certification.
• Standard First Aid Training Certification.

Preferred :

• Familiarity with BridgeAthletic, Hawkin Dynamics Force Plates, and Catapult,
• Master’s degree
• USA Weightlifting (USAW), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches (CSCC) certification
