FTS is Hiring a Land Manager Near Austin, TX

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded Manager of Land Acquisition and Development to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping our division's land acquisition strategy, staying abreast of market trends, and executing on key land acquisition initiatives. Here's a glimpse of what you'll be responsible for:

  • Strategic Vision: Develop a keen awareness of opportunities aligning with our company's land acquisition strategies, while keeping a finger on the pulse of current market trends in land development and homebuilding.
  • Operational Leadership: Take charge of all land acquisition operations within the division, working closely with the Division President to position us in prime locations
  • Market Intelligence: Lead efforts to anticipate industry trends and maintain a competitive edge by closely monitoring submarkets and competitors.
  • Due Diligence Excellence: Oversee the due diligence process from executed purchase agreement through CIC approval. Direct engineers, surveyors, and consultants on due diligence implementation, engage with municipal officials and collaborate with engineers to secure timely entitlements for proposed communities.
  • Strategic Decision Making: Execute strategic and robust decision-making processes for each land deal, maximizing divisional return on investment while prioritizing cash flow for the company.
  • Contract Management: Lead the land acquisition contract process, ensuring compliance with internal and external legal counsel and monitoring contract milestones to facilitate timely property closures.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate in the preparation of letters of intent and contracts, while maintaining effective communication with trade partners and vendors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Market Networking: Foster relationships with industry peers, builders, and developers to enhance market awareness and establish a strong competitive presence in our market area.
  • Risk Management: Identify and present potential risks for new and existing communities, including municipal challenges, regulatory changes, and land constraints, to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Compliance and Relationship Building: Ensure compliance with municipal or master plan approval requirements, while consistently engaging and enhancing relationships with municipal officials to position our division favorably.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
