The Algona Community School District is seeking a highly qualified Transportation Director. The Algona Community School District serves over 1400 students from Kossuth, Palo Alto, Humboldt and Hancock counties and is a regional hub offering a comprehensive PK-12 educational curriculum, including areas of special education, talented and gifted, title reading and alternative education.

Performance and Responsibilities:
- To assist in recruitment, selection, orientation, in-service training, supervision, and evaluation of transportation personnel.
- To assist in preparation of budget relative to the school transportation program.
- To inspect and assume responsibility for the efficient and safe operation of the transportation program.
- Establish route schedules that meet code requirements.
- To assist in preparation of specifications for purchase of equipment and supplies.
- To approve bills for work done and materials received.
- To keep transportation equipment and bus barns clean and in good repair.
- To establish daily, monthly, and annual inspection schedules for all vehicles.
- To recommend administrative rules and regulations to the superintendent.
- To keep records on each and every vehicle.
- Establish positive relationships and communication with the parents, students and the public.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent or Board of Education
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be determined by the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EVALUATIONS: Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Superintendent.
