Central Valley Ag is Hiring a Credit Specialist Near York, NE

PURPOSE
As a Credit Specialist at Central Valley Ag, you will primarily be responsible for processing applications of individuals and entities applying for credit as well as preparing, assembling and delivering various reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sets up credit accounts once the account has been approved for credit.
Sets up cash accounts.
Sets up non-retail grain only accounts.
Keeps record or file of credit transactions, deposits, payments and sends letters or confers with customers having delinquent accounts to make payments.
Interviews applicants to obtain personal and financial data and completes applications as needed.
Calls or writes to credit bureaus, employers, individuals, financial institutions, and vendors to check references.
Notifies customer by mail, telephone or in person of acceptance or rejection of application.
Assists in adjusting incorrect credit charges and grants extensions of credit on overdue accounts.
Accepts payment on accounts.
Provides customer credit information or rating on request to retail stores, credit agencies or banks when an authorization by the customer has been provided.
Advises customers by phone or in writing regarding credit information.
Keeps record of applications for credit.
Assists sales representatives in finding outside financing options for customers.
Assists customers in filling out credit application.
Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
2-year degree in a related field and or 3 years’ experience.
Ability to multi-task several assignments simultaneously and establish job priorities.
Employ fundamental accounting skills: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations.
To consistently meet internal and external deadlines.
Strong competencies in computer applications including Microsoft products.
Manages a variety of responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
Follows through with commitments and can be counted on to meet deadlines.
Always maintains a positive attitude.
Actively looks for ways to help customers.
Works well with others to achieve a common goal.
Works in a way that demonstrates safety is a priority. Promotes a work environment that is safe for everyone.
