PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Education, Certification, and/or Expirience
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for monitoring clients of the residential facility to insure client safety and the integrity of the program; assisting with the tasks of daily living; facilitating recreational activities; and completing clinical/facility documentation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Maintains a residential environment which promotes positive resident growth and achievement of treatment goals, in a manner that meets quality requirements set by the Agency and that is within the limits of services permitted by position and scope of practice:
a) Assists in designing and participating in resident activities.
b) Assists in identifying resident treatment needs and providing appropriate interventions and interactions as directed by supervisor.
c) Leads educational groups and facilitates therapeutic activities.
d) Reinforces residents' orientation to house rules, safety procedures, and household environment.
e) Utilizes the residential plans of care for each resident 100% of the time.
f) Monitors the provision of self-assist medication.
g) Monitors each client's general health status.
h) Ensures that the facilities are pleasant at all times, and that they meet the cleanliness standards of OhioMHAS and the Agency 100% of the time.
i) Respects and protects the clients' rights 100% of the time.
j) Remains alert and on the premises during entire shift.
k) Completes all safety procedures and drills in strict accordance with Agency schedules and standards.
2) Reports daily activities and other pertinent information to a degree of 100% accuracy.
a) Documents client progress and activities in residential charts daily.
b) Assists in the preparation of facility summary reports.
c) Communicates continually with community support personnel, supervisors, and other relevant clinicians.
3) Maintains agency-required annual training including, but not limited to, client rights and grievances, safety training, infection control, and others as required by OhioMHAS.
4) Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies, including compliance with all behavioral and ethical expectations.
5) Does not exceed 2 unscheduled absences per quarter.
6) All and other residential duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Education: Reading skills at least high school level.
2) Experience: N/A
3) Certification: CPR; First Aid; De-escalation; Medication Monitoring, CDCA
4) Other: Demonstrated competencies working with substance abuse and chemically-dependent populations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: Safety rules and procedures, Agency policies and procedures, Greene County area and resources, daily living tasks and skills, documentation requirements.
Skills: Operating basic household appliances and tools; excellent interpersonal skills, including directing and demonstrating activities of daily living, i.e. Cleaning, laundry.
Abilities: Lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, bending, stooping, writing legibly or use of computer, ability to see, hear, read, and communicate information clearly, ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions related to persons with disabilities.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
May require weekend, evening and holiday hours. Occasional travel within Greene County. Strict confidentiality is required. May be exposed to clients who are potentially angry or violent. Some exposure to cleaning compounds and supplies.
